Mintbook vs Booksy: a profile page or your own site?
Booksy is booking software for £40 a month plus £5 per extra team member, plus VAT, with a free marketplace listing and an optional Boost feature that charges 30% on new clients. Mintbook is a branded booking website built and run for you from £149 a month with no commission. Booksy costs less; Mintbook gives you your own website.

The short answer
Choose Booksy if
- You want all the booking features for one low flat price.
- You are happy with a profile page on Booksy instead of your own website.
- You want to switch marketplace promotion on and off, and only pay commission while Boost is on.
- Your clients already book barbers or stylists through the Booksy app.
Choose Mintbook if
- You want a proper website in your own name, not a page on someone else’s platform.
- You want it built, set up and maintained for you rather than doing it yourself.
- You want client export tools in your own dashboard.
- Your brand matters as much as the booking button.

Price, plainly
Booksy is cheaper. A three-person team pays £50 a month plus VAT on Booksy, against £249 a month on Mintbook Team. The difference pays for a website built, hosted and maintained for you, rather than a profile page you run yourself. If you do not need that, Booksy is the better value.
How Boost commission works
Listing on the Booksy marketplace is free. Boost is optional: while it is on, Booksy promotes you in its marketplace and app and charges 30% of a new client’s first visit, minimum £5 plus VAT. Clients who book through your own Booksy link, QR codes, Google, Instagram or Facebook are commission-free even with Boost on.
Barbershops weighing these up may also want the barber booking system page, which covers first available and repeat appointments in Mintbook.

Questions answered
Does Booksy charge commission?
Only if you turn on Boost. Boost charges a one-time 30% fee, minimum £5 plus VAT, on a new client’s first visit. Bookings from your own link, QR codes, Google, Instagram and Facebook stay commission-free.
Does Booksy give you a website?
Booksy gives you a profile page showing your services, prices, availability, reviews and a booking button, which its UK site describes as ‘No website necessary’. We found no UK Booksy offer of a website on your own domain.
Is Booksy or Mintbook better for barbers?
Booksy suits barbers who want a low flat price, an app clients may already use and optional marketplace promotion. Mintbook suits established shops that want their own branded booking website with first available and repeat appointments, set up for them.
How do I get my client list out of Booksy?
Booksy’s UK help centre says to email its support team at info.gb@booksy.com for a copy of your client list with contact details. We can then import that list into a Mintbook booking site.
