Fresha fee calculator

Fresha charges three main fees: a monthly subscription (£14.95 for one person, or £9.95 per bookable team member), a one-time 20% fee on new clients who find you through its marketplace (minimum £4), and card processing. This calculator adds them up from Fresha’s published UK rates.

Rates checked 15 September 2026. Fresha’s published prices exclude VAT; the calculator adds it so they compare with Mintbook’s VAT-inclusive prices.

Fresha overtakes this Mintbook plan at about 16 new marketplace clients a month.

Estimates only. Fresha publishes prices without VAT, so 20% VAT is added to its subscription, fees and add-on to compare with Mintbook’s VAT-inclusive prices. Card fees are shown as published. Not included: texts beyond Fresha’s free allowance, Tap to Pay’s extra 7p, other add-ons, and Fresha’s unpublished fee cap on higher-value services.

How Fresha’s fees work

The subscription

Fresha’s Independent plan is £14.95 a month for a one-person business. The Team plan is £9.95 a month for each bookable team member. Both exclude VAT, and there is no free plan, only a 7-day trial.

The new-client fee

Fresha charges a one-time 20% fee, with a £4 minimum, on the first completed appointment of a brand new client who discovers you through the Fresha marketplace. Returning clients are free. Fresha says the fee also has a maximum cap for higher-value services, but does not publish the amount, so this calculator does not apply one.

  • Clients already on your Fresha client list, including clients you add or import before they book, do not count as new.
  • Book Now links generated in your Fresha partner profile carry no new-client fee, unless the client saw your marketplace profile first.
  • If staff cancel on the client’s behalf, the fee still applies. A no-show marked on the same day is not charged.
  • The fee is non-refundable.

Card processing

Online payments cost 1.4% + 25p and in-person payments 1.19% + 20p, plus 7p for each Tap to Pay authorisation. Card terminals start at £99. The first 20 automated texts each month are free, then 6p each.

Worked examples

Three example businesses, run through the same maths as the calculator. Mintbook’s side uses Stripe’s standard UK card rates (1.5% + 20p online, 1.4% + 10p in person) as a like-for-like guide. Fresha’s subscription and fees include 20% VAT here, because Mintbook’s prices include VAT. Your own card provider’s rates may differ. The clinic example ignores Fresha’s unpublished fee cap, so its new-client fees may be lower in practice.

Is a flat monthly fee cheaper than Fresha?

It depends mostly on how many new clients the Fresha marketplace sends you. In our solo example, Fresha costs less than a £149 flat fee, and only overtakes it at around 16 marketplace clients a month. As marketplace clients rise, the 20% fee grows with them while a flat fee stays the same.

Price is not the only difference. With your own booking site, clients book with you rather than on a page next to other businesses, and the website and client relationship are yours. See Mintbook and Fresha compared, or read how to leave Fresha without losing clients.

What this calculator leaves out

  • Texts beyond Fresha’s free allowance, and marketing messages.
  • Paid add-ons such as Premium support, Client Loyalty or the AI Concierge.
  • Fresha’s unpublished cap on the new-client fee for higher-value services.
  • Card machine costs and Tap to Pay’s extra 7p per authorisation.

Questions answered

How much does Fresha cost a month in the UK?

Fresha’s subscription is £14.95 a month for a one-person business, or £9.95 a month per bookable team member, excluding VAT. On top of that you pay card processing, and a one-time 20% fee (minimum £4) on new clients from its marketplace.

Does Fresha take commission on every booking?

No. Fresha’s 20% fee applies once, to a brand new client who discovered you through the Fresha marketplace. Returning clients, clients already on your list and bookings from your partner profile’s Book Now links are free of that fee.

Do I pay Fresha’s new-client fee if a client books through my website?

Not usually. Book Now links from your Fresha partner profile carry no new-client fee. The exception is a client who viewed your Fresha marketplace profile first and then booked through your website or social pages, whom Fresha still counts.

Are Fresha’s prices shown with or without VAT?

Without. Fresha’s pricing page says its rates are exclusive of 20% VAT, so add VAT when you compare its subscription and fees with any price that already includes it.
